Customs of the days
- Megillat Esther
- Read twice — once at Arbit on Purim night and again after Shaharit in the morning — from a hand-written scroll, in the Sephardic ta'amim.
- Mishloah manot
- Two ready-to-eat foods sent to at least one friend during the day of Purim. Families send far more than one.
- Matanot la'evyonim
- Gifts to at least two people in need, given on the day itself. The shul collects and distributes for anyone who asks.
- Se'udat Purim
- The festive meal in the afternoon, with wine, singing and the Purim spirit that Sephardic homes keep late into the night.
- Ta'anit Esther
- The fast of Esther the day before, from dawn until nightfall, with Selihot and the Torah reading of Vayehal.
- Al HaNissim
- Added to the Amida and Birkat HaMazon on Purim, as it is on Hanukkah.

Congregation Bircat Shalom is a family-friendly Sephardic Orthodox synagogue in West Boca Raton, serving Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Coral Springs, Parkland and Deerfield Beach.
